God's grace welcomes you, no matter who you are or where you come from - and so do we. Grace Evangelical Lutheran church was founded by God’s grace in 1905 in Yakima, Washington. Our church holds a long rich history in the Yakima community. Our church is a member of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). Our congregation and church body are solidly based on the foundation of the Bible. We believe that Jesus is our Savior and the only way to heaven. Through faith in Jesus we are united to him and each other. Pastor Jim Turriff currently serves as Pastor at Grace.
Our school has served families for over 50 years in the community by providing Christ-centered education.
Sunday School meets Sundays after morning worship services where children learn stories of the Bible through song, lessons, and activities.
Adult Bible class meets after church on Sunday mornings with Pastor.
Coffee Hour is held every Sunday immediately after church in the main floor gathering area. It is a time for friends and family to meet and catch up each week.
Music is very important to us in our worship. We strive to bring involvement from as many of our members as possible. Our choir meets weekly to rehearse and provide special music for worship.
4-7th grades meet regularly for activities and Bible lessons. It is led by Lyndsay Evans and is a chance for kids to bring friends and classmates from schools to join for fun activities like water balloon volleyball, arts and crafts, movies, and overnight lock-downs.
Ladies Bible Class meets on Thursday mornings at church.
We serve our community by holding a program call English as a Second Language (ESL). Through this program, we provide free English lessons for those who speak Spanish. Child care is also provided during the classes.
